Cyber Monday

Don’t get caught shopping at work! Based on the numbers it’s inevitable that a few people will be cruising for deals while at their desk, a positive for eMarketers.

According to Internet research firm comScore Inc., an estimated $700 million in online sales will occur today. The firm has also identified the top offers, something that you may want to consider as you prepare for holiday 2007:

1) One-Day Sales: Nearly one-third of retailers are hosting a special one-day sale for Cyber Monday – an estimated 42% according to the National Retail Federation’s annual survey. This trend will likely continue throughout the month of December.

2) Free Shipping: The number of retailers offering this deal has risen to 41.2% this year (36% in 2006); what’s more, most are offering the incentive without conditions (i.e. minimum purchase).
