Regardless of industry or initiative, it seems that email marketing managers have the same challenges – keeping their list growing and keeping their recipient’s attention. Success for both challenges is derived from the importance you place on the channel.

Barack Obama’s marketing team has done a nice job leveraging the internet to grow his following, expedite messaging and gauge effectiveness – he has leveraged the web like few others, using Twitter and Facebook to interact regularly. As for email importance, his team issued notice this week thanking the entire list for being loyal subscribers and informing them that they would be the first to know who his Vice Presidential nominee would be – via email and or text message.

List growth and readership can’t be solved overnight, but elevating the email channel among your clients and prospects will cause them to expect more and pay more attention. Keep this in mind as you compose campaigns and recruit new recipients, also remember that email and mobile are becoming increasingly more connected.
